The Pink Line Is Weeks Away from Launch
Namma Metro Phase 2 is in motion, and the Pink Line will be the first corridor to run through the heart of the city rather than around its edges.

The Pink Line has been under construction for so long that most Bengalureans stopped tracking it. That changes in August. When it opens, it will be the first metro corridor to run through the heart of the city rather than around its edges.
Trial runs began in January 2026, with six-coach BEML train sets tested for traction, braking, signalling and Alstom CBTC integration.
Phase 1 targets August 15, 2026: the 7.5 km elevated section from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere, covering Hulimavu, IIM-B, JP Nagar and Jayadeva.
Phase 2 is targeted for December 2026: a 13.7 km underground stretch from Dairy Circle through MG Road, Shivajinagar and Cantonment to Nagawara.
The full corridor runs 21.25 km across 18 stations, 12 of them underground and 6 elevated, connecting Bannerghatta Road in the south to the ORR in the north.
Key interchanges sit at Jayadeva with the Yellow Line and at Nagawara with the Blue Line, creating Bengaluru's first true north-south metro spine.
The value case is well established. Metro adjacency in Bengaluru has historically added 12 to 18 percent to residential values within one kilometre of a station. The Pink Line passes through some of the city's most established neighbourhoods, so that premium is already being priced in rather than waited for.
